TRANSIT
Transit wheelchairs are attendant propelled and therefore unlike a self propelled wheelchair has smaller back wheels. This means that the chair is also lighter, enabling the carer / attendant greater ease of lifting for transport. Transit wheelchairs are not suited for uneven outdoor ground surfaces. Generally Transit wheelchairs are used on occasions such as outings, doctors appointments or as a means of transport where it is impractical to walk the required distance.
